About Gear Calc

Gear Calc is a small project with one goal: build calculators that are accurate, fast, and genuinely useful. No sign-ups, no walls of ads, no mystery numbers. Every tool shows the formula it uses so you can check the math yourself.

What we make

We focus on everyday, practical calculators — brewing coffee, sizing a ring, scaling a recipe, estimating EV charging costs, counting visa days, and more. Each tool targets one specific question and answers it clearly, with worked examples, a reference table, and answers to the questions people actually ask.

How our calculators work

Everything runs in your browser. When you press Calculate, the math happens on your device — nothing is sent to a server, and the tools keep working even on a slow connection. The pages are static HTML, which means they load quickly and work well on phones.

Our principles

• Show the formula. A result you can't verify isn't useful. We explain how every number is produced.
• Estimate honestly. Where a result is an approximation, we say so and explain the limitations.
• Respect your time and device. Light pages, clear layouts, and no intrusive pop-ups.
